Kaliurang Trip

Well, actually, my trip to Kaliurang was on last Friday, but I just want to recap now. It was one of the fun programs held by my classmates in American Studies program. Final exam week was over and they planned to do some refreshment by going somewhere before most of them go back their own hometown--most are not originally from Jogja though. Besides, they wished to strengthen the spirit of togetherness, ASSAA's favorite motto :p
I went there with my mom, though. I need someone to help me bring the corns. What's more, I also want to let her see Mount Merapi since she hasn't been there. It was fun. She was delighted. And one more point, I didn't really feel up to sleep over there. I had to teach by the next morning and I was sure I wouldn't be able to catch up if I stayed there.
But anyway, the programs at day were great. Our lecturer, Mrs. Tati, came over by 1 o'clock. She brought spaghetti of her own cook. She performed wayang in English. It was a simple story, but exciting. She recorded her voice when she conducted the same performance in America. After that, my friends and I performed a simple play about the battle between eagle and owl--it was adapted from Indian folklore of Tenino, the forgotten tribes. Once all finished, we eat some lunch. The special menu then was Mie Cakalang by mbak Rusni, from Gorontalo. It was tasty anyway. And just to note, that lunch was actually the second one--not long before it, we had already had lunch, hehehe... What a group of passionate eaters.. :p
Another guest that day was Jared--he was Nana's friend from New Mexico. He'd just been in Jogja for two days by then.
Eventually, Mrs. Tati, accompanied by Mrs. Djuretno, her sister, made farewell at around 3. They couldn't stay long. Next, it was followed by my mom and I. We also didn't stay long. At least, we had a good time there. I've got wonderful friends in ASSAA. Hope that one day in the future we can look back with smile on all the beautiful moments that we've shared today. It's been wonderful experiences. It's going to be hard to leave our briefly-timed togetherness in ASSAA... C'est la vie... :D

Rain...

Gray clouds are hanging over Jogja this morning. Rain has just started to fall. People don't use their umbrella. They let the raindrops fall on them. Indeed, it's the first rain after sometime being exposed to the hot sunshine at day and cold, chilling temperature at night. A little rain could be a relief in such this upcoming dry season... What a day!

Snow in Jogja?

A couple of days ago I read on a pamphlet at the side of the street announcing that there would be some kind of "snow" show at Saphir Square. What crossed my mind was that it would be like experiencing snowfall. However, yesterday, on its grand opening, I came there and what I got was just a sort of ice craft exhibition. It was just a simple tent at the outside, ordinary gatekeepers, poor in procedure as I observe... Then it was so cold with temperature of -15'C. Does that degree really represent the normal winter? Hmm... If it is so, I'm wondering how tough life is for those who expericence 4 seasons. One last point, where's the snow? Ain't it better to change its title into "ice world" instead of "snow"?

Was it worth the ticket price??.... ;)

O Day....

Heading for tomorrow... You bet I'll find myself dreaming of the Amerindians tonight... O wind, let the great history and imagination at the back of my mind flow... O woods, let the white sheet give a clear picture of the Indian figures... O trees, O river, O great plains, O valleys, O meadows, O sky, .... Let the nature speak today, tomorrow.... :)

Never Fear, I Love You!

That!!! Just imagine ... It's love :)

Welcoming Global Warming ...

I heard the news on TV yesterday. It said that local people in Bantul, around the southern coast, was misled by the issue of Tsunami. They panicked. But, then, the authority from BMG clarified that it was just a hoax. It was so unfortunate that two days before, people in Aceh was also shocked by the alarm sound--used to warn for potential tsunami. The recent natural disasters were so traumatic though. Indeed, earth is going old, but people are going careless. Law of nature, eh? Global warming is coming. It's not an intruder, ain't it? It's already written on the line. It's a special guest. Welcome it, people! No need to deny, coz it's us human beings who have invited it ;p

It's never too late. Fix it, my fellow humans. Something is good so long as we treat it good. Love this mother earth, and that's the way she pays back... :)

Where's That NoteBook?

When I woke up this morning, that notebook's gone!! Easy come, easy go ... follow wherever the wind blows ... ;p

Here I send my deepest condolence... Hope it stays safe and sound in its new place... so sad, hehehe

The-Same-Old-Brand-New-Disorder ....

Conversion!! I can't control myself anymore... That boredom thing attacks me again! O God, I'm being invaded! If the winner takes all, then I'm broke. I lost everything. Coz it wins! I've been all out of love in this routine. I need some refreshing. Save me from all this wreck... I just want to be on my own. So, leave me alone..
Ah no, it's so wrong. I know it is. But, ain't life too short for me to do things I don't want to? Whyever should I force myself to do what I don't feel up to? Sorry, buddy, you meet the wrong person. I'm not that kind of person. I'm detached. I'm wild and free. Am I an existentialist? Am I too absurd? Whatever! I like it. I love to be me.
Wait up!!! What about that "same-old-brand-new-disorder thing"??? .....

There's only blank. Silence. Unresolved. Leave it open-ended... what a stubborn creature!! Go away .. hehehe
